Lenovo Thinkpad series of notebooks has always been a recommendation for business professionals and office workers, all thanks to its powerful hardware in terms of both the quality and the capable internal components. For this iteration, the Gen 2 series has been equipped with the new Intel Core Ultra Series Processors, which specifically integrate an NPU inside, dedicated to AI applications.
Design
The device follows a characteristic Thinkpad appearance. The whole chassis is contrived up of Aluminum and coated in black, which helps make the notebook slimmer and lighter, It also packs an Intelligent Cooling System for keeping the internals at an optimal temperature, to avoid any kind of thermal throttling.

It differentiates itself from the previous iteration by being integrated with Intel® AI Boost which is fueled by the dedicated NPU that fuels the potential to run applications like the Microsoft Designer, Windows Copilot, etc. The GPU support is ensured by the Intel Graphics, with 4 Xe Cores, and support for DirectX 12.2 with a Max Dynamic Frequency of 1.85 GHz.
Memory and Storage
The package rocks a DDR5 memory setup that is rated for 5600 MT/s, it holds a capacity of 8GB. This provides the system with more strength to handle multitasking operations. The system can max out at a capacity of up to 64 GB in dual channel configuration spanning over to slots. It can accommodate up to two PCIe Gen 4.0x4 NVMe Opal 2.0 Solid State Drives for a combined max capacity of 2 TB. Initially, it is featured with a 512 GB 2242 SSD which offers a speedy data transfer rate that can make the applications launch quickly.
Display
The ThinkPad E16 Gen 2 includes a 16-inch IPS screen. It can display the processed picture with a resolution of WUXGA at 1920 x 1200, which is capable of achieving a brightness of 300 nits with a 45% coverage of the NTSC space. With the Anti-glare surface of the panel, it can flawlessly reject all kinds of glares.
Other Specs
The setup is refueled with the 65W USB-C® (3-pin) Adapter, allowing the 47 Wh battery to juice the Thinkpad in the mobile state. The palm rest amenities include an LED Backlit, English (EU) keyboard on top of the fully clickable touchpad, and a power button that also doubles as a fingerprint reader for secure Windows Hello logins.
The wireless channel is handled by the Wi-Fi® 6E, 802.11ax 2x2 + BT5.3 wireless card. One HDMI® 2.1, for an output of up to 4K/60Hz to a supported display source, a Headphone/microphone combo jack, and an RJ-45 Ethernet adapter. The ThinkPad includes a High Definition (HD) Audio system, managed by the Senary SN6141 codec chip. It is specced with a set of stereo speakers, which support Dolby Atmos, and the audio output is tuned by Harman.
